A New Heart Disease Discovered by ÇOMÜ Scientists Entered the World Medical Literature

In the studies published in Archives of Medical Science by Dr. Ercan Akşit and Dr. Sonay Oğuz from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMU) Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, and Dr. Başak Büyük from the Department of Histology and Embryology, it was found that the veins of the heart were elevated for a long time. It was discovered that the muscle tissue of the heart deteriorated as a result of exposure to pressure.

Dr. Ercan Akşit from the Department of Cardiology said in a statement:

''Heart and vascular diseases are the most common cause of death in the world; In some patients who have had a heart attack, have heart failure or a rhythm disorder, sometimes no underlying cause can be found; The veins of the heart are less known and less researched compared to their arteries, that they continue their multi-faceted clinical researches of this new discovery, which they named 'Chronic Coronary Venous Insufficiency' as the most appropriate definition as a result of years of deep literature review and study, and that the reason for this is clear. may also explain some non-existent heart diseases; The good news is that they are working on treatment protocols that can slow the deterioration of the muscle tissue of the heart and that this is a partially treatable condition; With all the managers and administrative staff of the ÇOMÜ Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit that supported the study; Prof. Dr. Alper Akçalı, the director of ÇOMÜ Experimental Application and Research Center, thanked everyone who contributed to the center's responsible manager and veterinarian Sait Elmas.''
